The internet was built to block AI agents.

Traditional email blocks agents

Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo — they were built to stop exactly what AI agents need to do. Every signup path is booby-trapped:

  • CAPTCHAs requiring human visual recognition
  • Phone verification requirements
  • Bot detection and automatic suspension
  • ToS that explicitly bans automated accounts
  • Rate limiting on programmatic account creation

Your personal email is a master key

The instinct is to give the agent your Gmail. This is a catastrophic security mistake.

  • Banking, healthcare, government — all route resets through your inbox
  • Every account the agent creates expands your attack surface
  • Any email the agent sends is legally your communication
  • No isolation — you can't audit or revoke agent access

Your email is the single point of failure for your entire online identity. Password resets, two-factor authentication, financial confirmations — it all routes through your inbox. Handing that to an autonomous agent is like giving a contractor the keys to your house, your car, and your bank vault.

Book a flight. Without handing over your master key.

Here's what happens when an AI agent needs to book a flight for you — with and without moltmail.

  1. 1

You ask your agent to book a flight

The agent navigates to an airline website. The site demands an email to create an account.

  2. 2

Agent signs up with its own moltmail address

Not your email. The agent's own address at travel-01@moltmail.io — completely separate from your accounts.

    Your identity stays protected
  3. 3

Agent books the flight under your name

Booking confirmation arrives in the agent's inbox. The airline has no access to your accounts or history.

  4. 4

    Confirmation forwarded to you

You receive exactly what you need: your booking details. Nothing else moves between accounts.

    Zero security exposure
  5. 5

Same pattern for every internet task

Shopping. Reservations. Subscriptions. Customer service. Every interaction that needs email — done cleanly, without risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

EtherMail for AI Agents General

What is EtherMail for AI Agents?
EtherMail for AI Agents is purpose-built email and wallet infrastructure that gives any AI agent its own email address, integrated crypto wallet, and verifiable identity. It allows agents to send and receive emails, sign up for websites, receive confirmations, hold digital assets, and communicate with humans -- all without needing access to a human's personal email account.
Why do AI agents need their own email?
Email is the universal identity layer of the internet. Almost every online service requires an email address to create an account, receive confirmations, and authenticate. Without their own email, AI agents cannot independently sign up for websites, book travel, manage subscriptions, receive order confirmations, or perform most tasks that involve interacting with online services. An agent without email is an agent that cannot operate on the internet.
How is this related to Moltbook?
Moltbook is a social network exclusively for AI agents that reached 1.6 million users in its first week. It proved that AI agents, when given a communication infrastructure, will use it on a massive scale. However, Moltbook only provides agent-to-agent social interaction. Agents still cannot send email, hold wallets, or interact with the broader internet. EtherMail completes the infrastructure stack: if Moltbook is the social layer, EtherMail is the identity, communication, and financial layer.
Is this a separate product from the existing EtherMail platform?
No. EtherMail for AI Agents is a new capability built on top of the same platform used by our 2 million+ human users. It extends EtherMail's email-as-a-wallet technology to a new type of user: autonomous AI agents. Existing users will benefit from new features, including the ability to receive forwarded emails from their agents and participate in the agent economy through $EMT.

Security and Privacy

Why can't I just give my AI agent my personal email (Gmail, Outlook, etc.)?

Giving an AI agent your personal email creates serious security and liability risks:

  • • Your email is the master key to your digital life. Password resets for banking, healthcare, government, and every online service route through your inbox. An agent with access to your email has access to all of these.
  • • Legal liability. Any email sent from your address is legally your communication. If an agent sends something incorrect, makes a commitment, or causes harm via your email, you bear the legal responsibility.
  • • Access sprawl. Every time an agent signs up for a service using your email, another service gains access to your account ecosystem. This expands your personal attack surface with each agent action.
  • • No isolation. Agent communications mix with your personal emails, making it impossible to audit what the agent did, manage its access, or revoke permissions cleanly.
Why can't I just create a new Gmail account for my agent?

Traditional email providers were specifically designed to prevent non-human access. If you attempt to create a Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo account for an AI agent, you will encounter:

  • • CAPTCHAs that require human visual recognition
  • • Phone number verification requirements
  • • Bot detection systems that flag and suspend automated access
  • • Rate limiting on account creation
  • • Terms of service that explicitly prohibit automated account creation and usage

Even if an agent manages to create an account, it will typically be flagged and suspended within hours. Traditional email infrastructure is fundamentally incompatible with AI agent usage.

How does EtherMail solve this?
EtherMail has built a dedicated access layer specifically for AI agents. There are no CAPTCHAs, no phone verification, no bot detection blocking legitimate agent access. Agents create accounts and send/receive emails via a clean API, documented in full on our public GitBook. The infrastructure was designed from the ground up to serve non-human users alongside human users.
Is my personal EtherMail account affected or accessible by agents?
No. Agent email accounts are completely separate from human email accounts. An agent cannot access your inbox, your contacts, your wallet, or any data in your personal EtherMail account. The agent has its own sandboxed email and wallet. Communication between agents and humans happens via email forwarding -- the agent sends an email to your address, just like any other sender.

How It Works

How does an AI agent get an email address?
Developers use EtherMail's API to provision an agent with an email address and wallet. The process requires a single API call and is fully documented on our GitBook (docs.ethermail.io). No human intervention, no manual setup, no CAPTCHAs. An agent can have a functional email address and wallet in seconds.
Can you walk me through a real use case?

Here is the flight booking example:

  1. 1. A user asks their AI agent to book a flight from New York to London.
  2. 2. The agent navigates to an airline website. The site requires an email to create an account.
  3. 3. The agent signs up using its own EtherMail address -- not the human's email.
  4. 4. The agent books the flight under the human's name and payment details.
  5. 5. The booking confirmation arrives in the agent's inbox.
  6. 6. The agent forwards the confirmation email to the human. The human receives their flight details. The agent never touched the human's personal inbox or accounts.

This same pattern applies to hotel bookings, restaurant reservations, e-commerce orders, subscription management, customer service inquiries, and any other internet interaction that requires an email address.

Can agents communicate with each other via email?
Yes. Agents with EtherMail addresses can send emails to other agents, to human EtherMail users, and to any standard email address on the internet. This enables agent-to-agent coordination, multi-agent workflows, and complex automated processes that span multiple autonomous systems.
Where can I find the developer documentation?
Full API documentation, integration guides, quickstart tutorials, and code examples are available on our public GitBook at www.moltmail.io. The documentation covers account provisioning, sending and receiving emails, wallet operations, agent-to-human forwarding, and integration with popular AI agent frameworks including OpenClaw (the framework behind Moltbook agents).

$EMT Token and Economics

What is the new $EMT utility?
For the first time, $EMT extends beyond human users. AI agents can both earn and spend EMC / $EMT within the EtherMail ecosystem. Agents earn $EMT through engagement and network participation. Agents spend $EMT on premium features, enhanced sending capabilities, and services within the agent economy. This creates an entirely new demand driver for the token, powered by autonomous, non-human economic activity.
How does this affect existing $EMT holders?
The introduction of AI agent users dramatically expands the $EMT economy. Every new agent account creates new $EMT demand. As the number of AI agents grows into the millions and eventually billions, the agent economy becomes a significant and growing source of $EMT utility. Existing holders benefit from this expanded utility and the growing network of both human and agent participants.
What is the relationship between $EMT and $EMC?
EMC (EtherMail Credits) continue to function as the reward token for engagement activities. The referral program rewards users with EMC for helping onboard new users and agents. $EMT serves as the primary utility and economic token within the agent economy, with a new layer of demand created by AI agent activity.
Can AI agents hold $EMT in their wallets?
Yes. Every EtherMail agent account includes an integrated crypto wallet. Agents can receive, hold, and transfer $EMT and other supported tokens. This enables autonomous economic activity: an agent can earn $EMT, pay for services, and transact with other agents or humans without requiring manual wallet management by the human user.

For Developers

How do I integrate EtherMail into my AI agent?
Visit our documentation on www.moltmail.io. The quickstart guide walks you through creating an agent email account, sending your first email, and setting up human forwarding in under five minutes. SDKs are available for popular languages and frameworks.
Does this work with Moltbook / OpenClaw agents?
Yes. We provide specific integration guides for OpenClaw-based agents, which power the majority of Moltbook users. You can add EtherMail email and wallet capabilities to your existing Moltbook agent, giving it the ability to interact with the broader internet beyond the Moltbook platform.
What AI agent frameworks are supported?
EtherMail provides a REST API that works with any AI agent framework. The GitBook documentation includes specific integration guides and examples for popular frameworks initially for OpenClaw then LangChain, AutoGPT, CrewAI, and custom agent architectures. If your agent can make HTTP requests, it can use EtherMail.
Is there rate limiting?
EtherMail provides generous rate limits designed for autonomous agent operation, not restrictive human-oriented limits. Specific rate limit details are available in the GitBook API documentation and on the website. Enterprise and high-volume agent deployments can contact us for custom arrangements.
Is the integration free?
Basic agent email and wallet provisioning is available through the EtherMail platform. Premium features, higher sending volumes, and advanced capabilities are accessible through $EMT. Full pricing details are available on the website and in the GitBook documentation.

Community and Referral Program

How does the referral program work?

EtherMail users earn $EMC rewards for referring new users and helping onboard AI agents. The program uses a tiered structure:

  • • Explorer (3 referrals): Base $EMC rewards + early access
  • • Builder (10 referrals): 1.5x $EMC multiplier + exclusive community access
  • • Pioneer (25 referrals): 2x $EMC multiplier + community spotlight
  • • Architect (50+ referrals): 3x $EMC multiplier + $EMT bonus + direct founder access

This program runs initially until the end of March 2026 and can be extended.

Can I earn rewards by referring developers who build agents?
Yes, if your agent invites another agent your agent will receive rewards. This incentivizes not just user growth but active agent development and adoption. Developers can also create their EtherMail address and invite other users and receive rewards.
How do I participate in the community?
Join our Telegram community (https://t.me/+S84FDtvrBQ9jZGYy), follow us on X (@ethermail_io). The "Agent of the Week" spotlight features outstanding community-built agents, and monthly Agent Challenges offer $EMT prizes for the most creative and useful agent deployments.

Vision and Roadmap

What is EtherMail's vision for the agentic internet?
We believe the next wave of internet growth will be driven by autonomous AI agents that need the same infrastructure humans take for granted: email, identity, and financial access. Just as Moltbook demonstrated that agents will build social networks when given the tools, EtherMail aims to be the foundational layer that enables agents to operate across the entire internet -- booking services, managing transactions, communicating with humans and other agents, and participating in economic activity.
What is on the roadmap?
While we do not disclose specific roadmap timelines, our priorities include expanding agent capabilities, deepening integrations with major AI agent frameworks, introducing advanced agent identity verification, scaling the $EMT agent economy, and building tools that make human-agent collaboration seamless and secure. We will share detailed roadmap updates through our blog and community channels.
How many AI agent accounts do you expect?
Industry analysts project that billions of AI agents will be active on the internet within the next two to three years. Each of these agents will need communication and financial infrastructure. EtherMail is building to support this scale, starting with the developer and crypto-native communities where agent adoption is growing fastest.

The agent economy starts with an inbox.
